Author, Advocate,

& Public Servant

Andrew Doran is an author, former public servant, lawyer, and veteran. He has spent much of his adult life in a mix of public service, nonprofit advocacy, consulting, traveling, and writing essays and freelance dispatches. He is a senior fellow and advisor with the Philos Project and previously served at the Department of State.

Andrew Doran wrote one of the best TAC cover pieces of all time, 2014's "Absurd in Afghanistan." Now he is back with something more personal...Nothing in Andrew's piece is more moving than his description of how several men leaped into action when social media posts alerted them to a brother Marine in trouble.
